Assistant Director, Trauma Resuscitation Unit
University HospitalPOSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for leadership and day-to-day operational oversight of the Trauma Resuscitation Unit (TRU). Ensures compliance to American College of Surgeons (ACS), Texas Trauma Designation, and American Burn Association (ABA) standards. Directs activates to promote optimal trauma care and unit performance. Provides supervision of assigned staffing in the TRU; managing their daily operations and an operating budget. Monitors the performance team members to ensure adherence to University Health’s policies, protocols, values and guest relations.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
A bachelor's degree in Nursing is required. Master’s degree in Nursing desired. Must have at least five years clinical experience in a verified trauma center. Must have a minimum of 2 years of leadership experience. Clinical trauma experience with adult and pediatric trauma patients is desired.
LICENSURE
Must possess a current license to practice Registered Nursing in the State of Texas. Current training certificates for BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC or ATCN are required. ABLS is required within 12 months of hire. A professional certification in trauma, burn, and/or emergency nursing is required within 12 months of hire.
