POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for execution of the Compliance Work Plan under the guidance of the Chief Compliance/HIPAA Officer and Director of Internal Compliance. Works to utilize the department’s resources for the compliance reviews and monitoring activities related to University Health’s compliance and privacy programs. Additionally, the position utilizes data and information, across multiple platforms, for analyzing data, and monitoring as assigned. Will contribute to the overall achievement of the department’s annual Work Plan through execution of the projects and assignments detailed in the plan. Will conduct complex operational and compliance reviews from inception to completion in accordance with departmental practices and procedures. This position must have a thorough understanding of applicable regulations, policies, and the internal control structure, assists with audits and investigations. This position will provide the Chief Compliance/HIPAA Officer with objective analysis, recommendations and pertinent comments concerning the activities and/or information reviewed. Performs duties and assignments promptly and efficiently. Strives to protect the department’s reputation for creditability and objectivity. Maintains good public/working relations with other University Health executives, members of the Board of Managers, co-workers, employees, physicians, patients and guests.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or General education diploma (GED) is required. An associate’s or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a hospital setting, compliance, internal audit, financial analysis, or contract compliance auditing. Exceptional communication and people skills, both verbal and written. Strong understanding of automated systems and processes. HIPAA and privacy experience preferred. Office management skills such as budget control, supply management, document organization and maintenance, etc., is preferred.
