POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Engineer for Electronic Security Systems (ESS) is responsible for assisting in executing the Information Management vision and strategy as defined by the Office of the CIO. Delivering high quality, cost effective solutions to all levels of users; supporting the business goals and objectives for the IS Division and the UH organization as a whole. The Engineer for ESS will follow structured processes in delivery of products and services, review and maintain compliance, provide associated department metrics. Provides systems support for several end users of access control, video, badging, work order systems, infant abduction, and visitor management systems.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor degree required in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Healthcare Business or related field. Four years of experience, or an Associate degree and one year related experience, may be substituted for required education/experience. Experience in a large complex information systems environments with a wide variety of Management Information Systems applications & technologies is desirable. Experience in the healthcare industry is desirable. Experience with server hardware and in a networked environment is desirable. Must possess or have the ability to obtain factory certifications from Software House (C*Cure 9000 Enterprise Architect), Milestone Video, Salient Video, Zenitel Stentofon Emergency Communication and Centrak & Elpas Infant/Pedi Protection Security Systems, and other system requirements. Knowledge of security procedures, literacy with computers, including peripherals and software is desired. An understanding of security applications (ESS: Access Control, Video Surveillance, Emergency Intercom, Infant/Pedi Protection, Intrusion Detection, etc…) and operations and the subsequent impact of the environment of care is preferred.
