Mammography Technologist II
Texas Diabetes InstitutePOSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs under the general supervision of the Senior Mammography Technologist, Mammography Technologist III, and Radiologist. The technologist will utilize positioning skills to produce clear, reliable images for screening and diagnostic mammograms as indicated by the ACR Manual. Operates mammography equipment, as well as, x-ray equipment and film processors. Operates ultrasound equipment to produce high quality breast sonograms, guides diagnostic and therapeutic invasive procedures. Operates breast core biopsy equipment, guides and facilitates galactography, needle localization and fine needle aspiration procedures. Performs and correctly documents technical aspects of QA/QC program for mammography. Responsible for various administrative duties/projects as assigned. Utilizes PC and RIS system
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Completion of an accredited mammography program or equivalent and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification, ARRT(R) is required. Completion of MQSA Initial Training in Mammography contact hours and Mammographic Modality course required. Licensure by the Texas Department of Health is mandatory. Must meet the required clinical ladder competencies of the position. Three years of experience in mammography is preferred
