Tech CenterPOSITION SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the end-to-end availability of the technological infrastructure for University Health which consists of storage arrays, network, servers, and middleware. Primary focus is on the delivery of technological solutions that are aligned with the critical business processes of the University Health. The Assistant Director of IT Infrastructure aides in both the strategic direction and operational management of the organization's global technical infrastructure (including hardware, software, servers, databases, storage solutions, networks, and high performance computing) in support of business needs. They are also tasked with presenting and developing long-term plans for how these resources should be used in the future, aligning with the strategic direction of Executive Director and University Health. The objective of this role is to collaborate with users and other IT departments to maintain a reliable computing environment, delivering quality processes, controls, and system support to the firm. The Assistant Director of IT Infrastructure is also responsible for ensuring the overall planning, execution, and success of projects related to building highly-scalable, fault- tolerant, and redundant systems infrastructures. This requires strong business knowledge, technical knowledge, management skills, and a passion for understanding the current and future state of the company and the IT industry in general. Oversee all infrastructure related projects and project budgets. Ensure licensing, maintenance and service agreements are accurate and in force. Manages the activities of all Technical Services staff. Maintains a budget for the associated cost centers to include compensation, supplies, software, and hardware. Organizes and schedules a variety of major and/or complex tasks for the Technical Services staff in a timely and proficient manner. Promotes the University Health Customer Relation’s policy.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
A Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field plus eight (8) years of information systems experience, four (4) of which are in a supervisory capacity of a programming or technical support staff is required OR Twelve (12) years of related experience with four (4) years in a supervisory capacity of a programming or technical support staff is required. Must be proficient in planning/implementation/administration on at least one or more of the computer network platforms used at University Health. Should have experience with networking protocols, internetworking, the Internet, LAN to WAN communications, and Internet gateways/firewalls. Windows experience, both on workstation and file server configurations is also required. Must have experience leading technical groups in choosing and implementing the best technical solutions available on the market for network hardware, network software, workstation software, workstation hardware, file server hardware, file server software, and imaging products.
