Food Service Cashier

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Carries out simple, easily learned cashier functions. Accepts payments, makes changes, safeguards and accounts for money in positions usually requiring the handling of numerous small cash transactions but not requiring extensive familiarity with clerical and office procedures. Ensures honesty, efficiency and accuracy in handling and accounting for and carrying out transactions. Assists in locating, reconciling and verifying the accuracy of transactions. Performs duties in accordance with University Health and Food Service Department prescribed policies and procedures. Follows instructions from the supervisor for carrying out regular and other duties required. Maintains good guests and working relations.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school graduation or equivalent is required. At least 6 months of cashiering, clerical or general office experience is required. The ability to read, write and speak English, do simple arithmetic and to understand oral and written instructions is required. Six months or more of the aforementioned experience acquired in operations having functional characteristics similar to those of the University Health is preferred. Cashier must meet the UHS Retail Service Cashier competencies.
