Lead Plant Operator
University HospitalPOSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads and coordinates daily work activities of Plant Operators, consults with supervisor to obtain direction regarding work assignments and priorities, organizes tasks to complete assigned work, and monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work in University Health buildings and facilities, hospitals, ambulatory clinical locations, central plants, operational locations. Complies with University Health's and departmental policies and procedures.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
A valid Texas State driver’s license “Class C” and must maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record and insurable by University Health.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required. Completion of high school vocational curriculums and emphasis on mechanical skills is preferred. Five years’ experience in facilities maintenance work, inclusive of “hands on” preventive and corrective repairs for equipment such as chillers, boilers, pumps, air handlers, facility management systems, pneumatic and electronic controls, fans, motors, pumps, water softeners, and associated equipment is required or Six years’ experience in facilities maintenance within a facility of not less than 500,000 square feet and a good knowledge of centrifugal, reciprocating and screw chillers, boiler systems, and Energy Plant Operations is preferred.
