Detention Health Care SvcsPOSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides professional skills required to practice crisis intervention and assessment services delivered to justice involved youths. Works with both the Mental Health Counselors and Staff Psychologists to offer a broad spectrum of psychological services to our patients. Provides professional level skills required in the clinical practice of mental health counseling and crisis intervention, affording direct services to children in the juvenile detention center. Interviews and administers psychological tests to juvenile defendants/detainees and writes supervised psychological reports.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, forensic psychology, or a closely related field is required. Two years of current experience in mental health and demonstrated level of clinical counseling skills indicative of ability to engage in self-regulated practice are required. Two years of experience in professional counseling are preferred.
LICENSURE
Current state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) is required.
