Medical Assistant
Texas Diabetes InstitutePOSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides direct and indirect patient care activities and supports the review of assigned Medicare managed groups. Reviews medical records, documentation, and care gaps for members listed within Medicare advantage care plans. Supports and maintains the University Health policies, protocols, values and guest relations.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED is required. Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited school or certification from an approved credentialing body for medical assistants is required. National certification as a registered Medical Assistant is preferred. Must have current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) Card. One-year experience in a clinic, doctor's office or ambulatory care setting is preferred. Understanding of Medicare and geriatric population is desired.
LICENSURE
Must have a current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider or AHA BLS Instructor Provider card.
