Pediatric Transport Specialist
University HospitalPOSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide respiratory care and safe transport to critically ill and injured pediatric patients via fixed wing, rotor wing and ground ambulance. Utilize critical thinking skills and established guidelines to function as a mobile intensive care unit. Serve as a clinical role model, resource, and mentor for colleagues.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Respiratory therapist with a minimum of two years of recent pediatric critical care experience. Required BLS, PALS, and ACLS (provider or instructor). NRP (provider or instructor) required within 3 months of hire. Completion of a nationally recognized trauma course required within six months of hire. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
LICENSURE
Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care and active Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license with the Texas Medical Board required. Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) certification or Certified-Neonatal Pediatric Transport (C-NPT) certification required within six months of hire.
