Cardiac Sonographer
Dominion Crossing (University Medicine Associates)POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Properly operates ultrasound equipment in order to produce high quality diagnostic cardiac images. Demonstrates knowledge of thoracic anatomy and internal structural anatomy of the heart. Knows the basic principles of Echocardiography, such as M-Mode, 2-Dimensional and Doppler Ultrasound. Performs various leadership activities and behaviors. Performs advanced echocardiographic procedures such as 3D echo and CRT (Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy). Complies with instructions from the immediate supervisor or designee. Maintains a good working relationship with co-workers and University Health’s employees, patients, doctors and guests.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree and possess one of the following Registries: RDCS-with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or RCS-with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). Must also be registered in Pediatric Echocardiography. Must have at least five (5) years of Echocardiography experience. Must have current American Heart Association, Basic Cardiac Life Support
