Community Outreach Specialist
Texas Diabetes InstitutePOSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as a liaison between the Mobile Mammography and Primary Care mobile unit and the community, volunteer network program coordinators, patient navigators, and other UH departments. Assists and supports the marketing efforts of the Mobile department in special community events, education, and preventive and wellness programs to provide information and educate the community at large about the UHS Mobile Programs. Promotes University Health programs and identifies areas for collaboration.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
An Associates degree in an allied health profession, health education, or equivalent experience is preferred. Experience in community health promotion, volunteer activity coordination, or other preventive health programs in a community health setting is preferred. Experience in public and/or educational presentations, individually or in groups, demonstrating effective communication skills is required. English/Spanish fluency is required.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
A valid Texas State DL operator’s license “Class A” and must maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
