Position Overview

As the Director of Outpatient Clinical Dialysis, you will provide administrative and clinical leadership for University Health's outpatient hemodialysis clinics. Working collaboratively with the Medical Director, Executive Director of Dialysis Services, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams, you will oversee daily clinical operations, quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, staff development, and patient care initiatives. This position plays a critical role in ensuring operational excellence while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Operations: Direct and oversee daily operations of outpatient dialysis clinics, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care while maintaining compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Patient Care & Quality: Monitor clinical quality indicators, patient outcomes, infection prevention initiatives, and performance metrics. Lead quality improvement efforts to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Leadership & Staff Development: Recruit, develop, coach, and supervise clinical leadership and dialysis staff. Foster employee engagement, accountability, teamwork, and professional growth.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with CMS Conditions for Coverage, ESRD regulations, Joint Commission standards, state and federal requirements, and University Health policies and procedures.
  • Operational & Financial Management: Assist in managing departmental operating and capital budgets, resource utilization, staffing, and productivity while supporting organizational financial goals.
  • Collaboration: Partner with physicians, Executive Leadership, multidisciplinary departments, and support services to improve operational efficiency and patient outcomes across outpatient dialysis services.
  • Performance Improvement: Analyze operational and clinical data, develop action plans, and implement evidence-based process improvements that support organizational strategic objectives.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
  • Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive leadership experience in dialysis services, including supervisory or management responsibilities.
  • Experience managing outpatient dialysis operations preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading clinical teams, quality improvement initiatives, and regulatory compliance programs.
  • Three (3) or more years of leadership experience with acutes, chronic dialysis, and home modalities/programs preferred.

Licensure & Certifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas.
  • National certification preferred.
