POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages and supports Operational Excellence initiatives that improve performance, reduce variation, and strengthen reliability across University Health. Leads and supports Lean and process improvement projects across clinical, operational, and administrative workflows. Identifies, designs, and helps implement AI-enabled and automation tools that support operational workflows, collaborating closely with clinical leaders, operational owners, IT, analytics, compliance, and other subject matter experts to move work from concept through implementation and sustainment.

Services as a facilitator Ai-enabled process improvement by organizing work streams, sequencing decisions, coordinating stakeholders, and driving follow-through with limited supervision. Supports AI governance for operational use cases by coordinating intake/prioritization materials, measurement plans, and implementation readiness with the AI Governance Committee and executive sponsors. Coordinates vendor evaluation support for operational use cases in partnership with Supply Chain, IT, Legal, and other required approvers.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Industrial Engineering, or related field is required; Master’s degree (MHA, MBA, Industrial Engineering, or related field) is preferred. Three to five years of healthcare operations, process improvement, performance analytics, or related experience is required, with demonstrated ability to lead or support Lean, Six Sigma, or operational excellence projects in a hospital or health system environment preferred. Experience supporting implementation of analytics, automation, AI-enabled workflow tools, decision-support solutions, or similar technology-enabled operational improvements is preferred. Startup, early-stage innovation, internal incubation, or equivalent experience independently building new processes, tools, or operating routines in an ambiguous environment is preferred. Demonstrated ability to self-manage complex work, prioritize across competing demands, and deliver results with limited oversight, along with strong relationship-building, stakeholder management, and organizational skills to coordinate cross-department implementation, is required.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

Lean/Six Sigma certification (Yellow Belt, Green Belt or Black Belt) is preferred. Project management certification (for example: PMP or equivalent) is a plus.
