Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Burn Program Manager is responsible for the coordination of the ABA (American Burn Association) Verified Burn Center. This leadership role ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care, compliance with ABA standards, and promotes multidisciplinary collaboration. The position will collaborate with Medical Directors, program leaders, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate, monitor, promote, and evaluate the program’s components, oversee clinical operations, and lead quality improvement initiatives. The Burn Manager must possess clinical expertise in the burn patient population across the continuum of care, as well as demonstrate experience with program leadership.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required; Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of healthcare leadership experience, in trauma or burn care settings.
- Minimum 3 years of burn care experience, in an acute care setting. Critical Care experience preferred.
- Demonstrated competency in ABA burn center accreditation standards and burn standards of care.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, foster collaborative environments, and lead projects and change initiatives.
- Experience with quality improvement methodologies and data analysis.
LICENSURE
State of Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse is required.
Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC required.
TNCC Instructor within 18 months of hire.
ABLS Instructor within 18 months of hire.
National burn certification, specifically the Certified Burn Registered Nurse (CBRN) preferred. CBRN must be obtained and maintained within 18 months of hire.
