Organ Transplant Clinic Director
University HospitalPOSITION SUMMARY
Provides supervision, training, direction, and performance monitoring to assigned staff of the Outpatient Organ Transplant Clinic. Supports daily operational productivity by coordinating patient care activities and managing role specific clinical functions as assigned by the Senior Director of Transplant Operation and Medical Directors to facilitate high quality, cost-effective care for the Pre- and Post-organ transplant populations adhering to UH, The Joint Commission (TJC), The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) regulations. Works with staff at all levels to optimize clinical efficiency and improve operational workflow as necessary. Recognizes problems with existing procedures and employs professional knowledge to make necessary decisions and formal changes. Promotes the Health System’s mission, purpose, goals, objectives and commitment to service excellence.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required. Five years of related, progressively responsible health care experience is required. Two years in a supervisory capacity is required. Experience working with organ transplant patients is preferred.
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION
Current RN licensure in the State of Texas is required. National Certification in a related field is preferred. Must maintain CPR certification. ACLS preferred.
