Payroll Specialist
Business CenterPOSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs the tasks related to the biweekly payroll closing cycle. Researches and responds to payroll related questions. Performs a wide variety of other payroll related tasks in an accurate and timely manner while assuring compliance with hospital policy and all Federal and State regulations.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school graduation or its equivalent is required. Two to four years of varied payroll and time collection experience. The ability to calculate withholdings and FICA tax deductions, the ability to calculate the correct “regular rate” of pay for overtime pay calculations, and to perform other business math calculations as deemed necessary. Extensive understanding of the PeopleSoft Payroll Time and Labor System. Extensive understanding of hospital pay policies and practices. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent computer skills with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Basic problem solving skills. Working knowledge of current Federal payroll tax and Wage and Hour laws. Excellent customer service skills.
