Pediatric Transport Specialist
University HospitalPOSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide respiratory care and safe transport to critically ill or injured pediatric patients via fixed wing, rotor wing and ground ambulance. Utilize critical thinking skills and established protocols to function as a mobile intensive care unit. Serve as a clinical role model, resource and mentor for colleagues.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Minimum of two years pediatric critical care experience. Must be BLS and PALS certified. ACLS and NRP required prior to completing transport orientation. PHTLS required within one year of hire. National certification such as NPS and/or C-NPT required within six months of hire.
LICENSURE
Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care and active Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license with the Texas Medical Board required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
