Chisholm Building-Call CenterPOSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for answering inbound calls from new patients, existing patients, nursing staff, and physicians, as well as making appropriate outbound calls to patients and clinical support areas. Coordinate and accurately complete administrative and clerical duties in support of clinical services, which include answering incoming telephone calls in both English and Spanish, appointment scheduling, eligibility screening, referral coordination, prescription refills, patient account inquiry, and outlining financial responsibilities. Specialists will also obtain or verify patient data, demographics, insurance, eligibility, and financial responsibility information prior to the scheduled appointment to ensure a complete and efficient pre-registration.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A high school diploma or equivalent experience is required. One year of college study or the completion of a recognized clerical vocational training program with medical terminology preferred. One year of UH experience or call center ACD experience is preferred. The ability to speak, read, and write in both English and Spanish is strongly preferred, and Spanish comprehension will be tested. Experience in the use of Windows software is required. Work experience in a medical office or clinic setting is strongly preferred. Experience in the utilization of an online patient scheduling and registration system is preferred.
