Staff Psychologist
University Health - San AntonioPOSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Psychologist provides clinical care in an integrated Behavioral Health and primary care setting. Job has a critical impact on departmental operations and budget. Directly responsible for the safety of self and indirectly responsible for the safety of co-workers. Visits are consultative in nature, assessing and treating patients referred by the University Medicine Associates primary care providers for a variety of mental health reasons.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a doctorate in Psychology or equivalent, and one year of supervised postdoctoral experience in clinical psychology, forensic psychology, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Comprehensive knowledge of psychological testing and evaluation techniques. Skill in communicating effectively with hostile, abusive, or irrational individuals. Ability to interpret psychological test and interview results; ability to formulate diagnostic impressions; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, outside organizations, and the general public.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Must be licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists, or must be eligible to be licensed within 6 months of employment.
