Director of Individual Giving
Corporate SquarePOSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees Individual Giving Team and efforts including principal and major gifts, mid-level giving and planned giving. Guides the design and implementation strategies to qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors. In collaboration with Foundation Leadership Team, develop and maintain appropriate systems for fund development, including but not limited to, donor management, prospect research, gift processing and recognition. Utilize those systems for accountability metrics and benchmarking. Build and maintain relationships with donors, physicians, nurses, community leaders and other key stakeholders. In addition, maintain a portfolio with a minimum of 50 major and principal prospects and donors
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in related field. Master's or certification in fundraising preferred. Seven years of successful and progressive front-line fundraising experience preferably in a higher education, health care, science setting or related field. Management experience preferred. Experience in managing and implementing a comprehensive fund development program and proven track record of cultivating, soliciting and closing major and principal gifts Ability to effectively communicate complex information clearly in oral and written formats to a variety of audiences. Knowledge and experience in the following areas is required: the nature and dimensions of philanthropy; ethics; motivations for giving and volunteering; capital campaign planning and management; research and cultivation practices; standard fundraising techniques including face-to-face solicitation, proposal writing, volunteer management, special events, telephone solicitation and direct mail/marketing; and development office functions including gift processing, prospect research, and fundraising reporting. Experience and confidence in asking people to contribute time and money. Familiarity with computer systems is necessary. Virtuous user is a plus
