POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES 

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Pharmacy Quality (or designee), the Pharmacy Manager for Safety and Quality Programs oversees, plans, and manages pharmacy quality, safety, and regulatory compliance programs, and assigned pharmacy programs within a highly matrixed health system. The Manager is responsible for leading a team of pharmacists and technicians. This role serves as an integrator across key operational, safety, informatics, automation, and program areas, bringing structure, consistency, and alignment to work that spans multiple parts of the department.  The Manager maintains a strong quality focus and helps create the organization, forward momentum, and reliability needed for stable and sustainable pharmacy workflows. The Manager provides leadership for pharmacy staff assigned to quality, safety, compliance, and programmatic functions; ensures ongoing readiness for accreditation and regulatory surveys; and serves as a subject matter expert for pharmacy-related quality, safety, and compliance initiatives.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

A Pharm.D. degree or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy required. Five years of experience as a pharmacist is required. Demonstrated leadership and project management skills with the ability to effectively supervise and lead teams.

Experience, certificates/certifications, and/or specialized training in quality, regulatory compliance, medication safety and/or pharmacy administration are preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

Current Pharmacy licensure, or eligibility for licensure, in the state of Texas is required.
